Having seen my work for other organizations, Griff Ehrenstrom approached me to build the brand identity for his newly-formed consulting LLC, Clarite Advisory. Drawing upon Griff’s myriad interests, passions, and values, I developed a compelling and unique identity for Clarite. I provided my client with a full set of turn-key assets and guidelines that he could immediately begin to apply as Clarite begins to do business.
In our initial meeting, I gathered that Griff, with his wide array of interests ranging from European history to JRR Tolkein to ancient languages, has a passion for stories. So, I wanted his logo to represent just that. Through my own research and interests I gathered inspiration from Latin inscriptions, ancient architecture, and Celtic Ogham stones. The latter (which evolved into the final logo) are large standing stones with hash marks made along one edge to mark a family history at a certain location.
Through dozens of iterations of the logo, color sampling from photographs of the Irish landscape (a place Griff can trace his own family history to), and regular feedback sessions, I created a comprehensive set of assets that would be as simple for my client to implement as possible. Along with any and all files he would need, I also provided a brand standards manual to take any guesswork out of using these assets.
Although this business card rendering was mostly for my own amusement, I did create a varied set of business cards that Griff could use that referenced his new branding. Upon delivery, Griff was “beyond impressed” with how I distilled his story into Clarite’s identity.
